Alms offering to the monks is one of the traditions that Buddhists have been practicing since the Buddhist era. If you travel in a big city like Bangkok, it’s very difficult to see such tradition so often.
Alms offering to the monks by the river is also a traditional lifestyle of the villages living along the Maeklong river which nowadays can still be found in Amphawa and Samut Songkhram. By staying at Baan Siriporn Resort, you can join the daily alms-giving ceremony at the riverfront pier which is the most popular activity of our guests.
If you want to join the ceremony, please set your alarm clock, and be ready at the pier by 06.00 AM. A monk will arrive at our pier by a rowboat. Some more monks will also arrive at the road on foot. You can watch other guests do the alms offering. If you wish to do the alms offering by yourself, please inform our staff by 09.30 PM of the day before for food preparation (surcharge).
