Why this festival is worth the trip
Mae Klong mackerel is a GI product and a staple of the Thai kitchen. This year is more than a row of food stalls. It is a year-end food festival that brings steamed mackerel, preserved-fish dishes, and local food together in one place, along with local products and stage performances. The provincial chamber’s goal is to raise Samut Songkhram toward becoming a gastronomy city.
Where to stay near the festival
The festival is held in front of the provincial hall in Mueang Samut Songkhram. Visitors often stay in the Mae Klong area and drive to the event with ease.
Baan Siriporn Resort is a riverside stay on the Mae Klong, with houses and guest rooms, clean rooms, friendly service, and fair prices. Guests walk about 1–3 minutes from their rooms to the shared riverside.
